Portage Lightning U11 Girls Win Mild Cup in overtime.
Game 1 was dominated by the Lightning and observers saw some great passing and
team work. The girls demonstrated how well they're playing by making it to the
finals against the best team from the other bracket; The Grand Rapids Crew.
And what a game that was. The Lightning girls struck first near the end of the
first half to make it 1-0. Near the end of the game, a great goal by the GR
Crew tied it up sending it into overtime. Watching both teams play in overtime
you really could see they were exhausted but the Lightning managed to dig deep
and put in two goals leaving the final score 3-1. Great going girls!
