Portage Lightning U16 Girls take TKO to PKs in FFF Final
The U16 girls team decided to get ready for the fall season by competing in
the Fall Futbol Frenzy
Aug 11-12 shortly after new teams were formed. PSC opened up by facing the
U17 TKO team, and winning an exciting 2-0 match. In the other two games in their
pool, PSC defeated the Lemont Raiders 3-0, and the Marauders 4-0, to earn the
right to face the U16 TKO team, who were undefeated in the other pool. In the
final, both teams played to a scoreless draw through regulation AND two overtime
periods. In the shootout to decide the champion, TKO prevailed by a single shot.
Congratulations on an impressive showing against strong competition, and special
thanks to Sam Pace and Jillian Karrick for very ably filling in for the regulars
who couldn't play that weekend.
